Update []:
Well, it's officially official! The Far Cry team has now shared the news that Far Cry 4 is playable natively at 60FPS on Xbox Series X|S from today, April 29th. The below post also announces that some big discounts are coming, but remember, the Ubisoft title hits Xbox Game Pass tomorrow on April 30th.
You can check out the confirmation in the tweet below (be warned of some vulgar language!):
Original Story: As we reminded you fine folks earlier today, Far Cry 4 is coming to Xbox Game Pass this week, and Ubisoft is seemingly preparing a native 60FPS patch for the game on Xbox Series X|S to coincide with its XGP arrival.
A new Far Cry 4 patch has cropped up on PS5 that enables native 60FPS gameplay, and the Xbox Series X|S version seems to be set for its own update as well. The game was previously an FPS Boost title — and that option has now been removed on Xbox — giving further evidence that an Xbox patch is inbound.
Previously, Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn both received 60FPS patches despite being part of the FPS Boost program prior - and our first evidence of those updates was their removal from FPS Boost, just like Far Cry 4 here. Older games like Assassin's Creed Syndicate also received similar updates on Xbox recently, with Ubisoft continuing to improve performance in lots of its older titles.
We'll have to wait for an official announcement to see if FC4 follows AC Syndicate in also making changes to the game's resolution, but we should find out imminently as the game drops on Xbox Game Pass. Either way, we're very much looking forward to jumping back into this fantastic open-world playground on Xbox Series X|S!
