Atomfall developer Rebellion has unveiled the game's first story expansion — Wicked Isle — bringing a whole new area, storyline, treasures and more to the Xbox Game Pass survival title.
Available June 3rd as a paid expansion, Wicked Isle is set on 'Midsummer Island' - "a whole new location to the game, with its own set of characters and enemies as well as additional leads, weapons, skills, items and multiple new endings for the main game."
"Midsummer is located close to the Windscale Atom Plant and as a result the levels of infection in both the people and environment are higher than on the mainland, [...] You are going to meet new enemy factions including pirate bandits and infected druids. To help you survive there are new weapons to be found on the island including a devastating Blunderbuss shotgun, a new bow, cutlass, daggers and the Beekeeper’s Staff. You will also be able to acquire new skills which will aid you on your quest as well as an upgraded metal detector which will enable you find even more loot caches."
You can have a wee glance at the upcoming DLC via the trailer up above, and we have some other key information here too. Wicked Isle is available as part of the Deluxe Edition and Deluxe Upgrade Pack for Atomfall - or alternatively, it'll be available standalone on launch day for £14.99 / €19.99 / $19.99 - and you can take 10% off that price if you're an Xbox Game Pass member. Marvellous!
If you've yet to tackle the main game and are still interested in doing just that, well, we highly recommend it. Atomfall isn't perfect, but we had a cracking time with it during our hands-on period at launch - and with it still being in the Game Pass library, well, you've got no excuse really. Aside from all the other amazing games in the library of course!
