Here Are The Results From Our Xbox Games Showcase 2025 Predictions

So, each and every year we throw together a big predictions piece here at PX for the Xbox Games Showcase - you know, what we expect to see, what we'd love Microsoft to surprise us with and all the rest of it. Well, this year, we played it safer in our overall predictions - and while that didn't exactly grant us perfect results, we did do a little better than usual!

So, with us not totally embarrassing ourselves this year, we're going to take a look at the results from our Xbox Games Showcase 2025 predictions. Because we're feeling generous (to ourselves, hehe), we reckon we got five of our calls correct, while another five totally missed the mark, because of course they did.

Here are the results from our Xbox Games Showcase predictions:

What We Got Right

1. 'Xbox's 2025 ASUS Handheld Is Announced'

Well, this prediction was bang on the money! Look, there had been so many rumours about the device prior to the event that it felt like it had to be announced sooner rather than later - and our wish was granted.

Microsoft went on to reveal two ROG Xbox Ally devices to launch later this year, and despite being desperate for pricing details and a proper release date, we're very happy to see this open secret formally announced by the team.

2. 'Gears Of War: Reloaded Beta Shadow Drops During The Event'

Right, this prediction is a tiny bit off the mark - but we're giving it ourselves anyway because we need all the help we can get. While the beta wasn't technically shadow dropped, it was revealed during the event and is going to be in our hands within a week of the showcase. We're taking that one!

Yep, the Gears of War: Reloaded beta's first weekend starts this Friday, June 13 - and we have a second beta to follow as well on June 20. For all of the exact timing and access details on the betas, we'll remind you of those down below.

3. 'Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Story DLC Revealed'

Another one we've totally nailed here; Bethesda did indeed reveal the upcoming expansion for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - just two months or so after the game debuted on PS5.

The Order of Giants is how MachineGames is titling this one, with the world famous architect taking us to "the ancient streets of Rome where forgotten catacombs twist into something far more sinister" for another chapter in the Indiana Jones story.

4. 'Halo Studios Shows A Glimpse Of Its First Project'

Bear with us here, because this is definitely a bending of the rules somewhat, but we reckon we deserve this one anyway. Sure, Halo Studios technically didn't show us anything, but Xbox boss Phil Spencer basically announced a new Halo game for 2026 without mentioning the name itself. That's got to count for something, right?!

Go ahead and tell us why we're wrong about this one down in the comments, but the fact that we got any sort of Halo tease this year is a win for us, and we're going to count it as a correct prediction. Sorry!

5. 'Double Fine Shows Up And Announces Its Next Major Game'

Yes, yes, yes - Double Fine is back with Keeper; coming to Xbox Game Pass this October. It had been a while since we'd heard anything from the Psychonauts developer, and we just had a feeling the team was going to show up this year.

And, show up it did. Keeper looks like everything you'd expect from a Double Fine game, and we can't believe we get to play it so soon! Seriously, October 2025 is stacked right now - bring it on!

What We Got Wrong

We don't want to wallow in what we got wrong here (for obvious reasons), so we'll simply list our incorrect predictions down below. Here's hoping some of these show up during the various events Microsoft will have planned in the coming months and years.

  1. 'State Of Decay 3 Gets Big Blowout, Launching 2026'
  2. 'The Xbox Elite Series 3 Is Formally Announced'
  3. 'Toys For Bob Appears With New Spyro Game'
  4. 'Perfect Dark Follows Up Impressive 2024 Showing With 2026 Launch Window'
  5. 'Microsoft Will Tease Its Xbox Series X Successor'

All in all, then, we'll take 5 out of 10 correct predictions for the Xbox Games Showcase this year - even if a couple of those are a little bit generous, we must admit. Still, it's better than our results from the last few years, and here's hoping we do a decent job for the 2026 show next year as well!
