Re: Roundup: Here's What The Reviews Are Saying About Xbox's South Of Midnight

ChrisDeku

@FraserG

Nobody's ever pressured us, or offered to pay us, or anything like that to score their games higher. We just score them how we feel.

I do 100% believe you but it is also a little bit awkward that the game is currently plastered across the top of this article in a large paid ad and is the most advertised product across the entire Hookshot range.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Down Almost 50% As Fans Question Stock Levels In Certain Regions

ChrisDeku

@themightyant The path to Leadership in gaming Slide that leaked(the one with the Gamepass projections/targets that goes up to 2030) had a starting point at the beginning of FY2023 in which Gamepass Subs were over 80% “Console First”. This was presumably the real numbers at the point the projections were made. I couldn’t say how it’s changed from then but I would say that a 30% increase on a small number is still a pretty small number. For example if that’s 5m to 6.5m it’s not a major change.

As for consoles the last official split we had from the FTC leak 75% Series S, 25% Series X but that was data as of early 2022

The Circana monthly reports for the US now give a breakdown for Series X. For the last year it’s mostly been around 60% Series X if I recall correctly.

Re: Xbox Announces 11 Titles Coming To Game Pass At February's Indie Showcase

ChrisDeku

This is a very strong showing, the Indies really started to dry up on Gamepass but I suspect a lot of that had to do with MS making deals very early on and a lot of those games suffering long delays.

33 Immortals sounds brilliant, Need to go count how many friends i can scrape together though…(I’m pretty sure it doesn’t actually work like that)

Re: Dragon Age Remaster Collection Wouldn't Be 'As Easy' As Mass Effect, Admits BioWare

ChrisDeku

@freddones The team that made the first Dragon Age would have been under 50 people I’d guess and most wouldn’t be doing any significant programming I,e. writers, artists, QA, Producers etc.

John Elper was a cinematic designer on Origins so would have been working directly within the engine. I’m surprised there’s even as many as 20 people that worked directly with the engine still around.
