Microsoft made a big mistake closing a talened studio that were capable of making great and different styles of games. Should have supported what they had instead of spending multiple millions on third party deals.
Made me hate Phil with a passion the disappearing act and when he does dare to show his face gives a typical corpo response. Didn't even bother thank the team at Tango absolutely disgusting.
I wish everyone that lost their job well and wouldn't be surprised if Sony or Nintendo took them on.
Outrageous that they are trying to charge £7 for a 15 min quest in the creation club. Apparently there's going to be several more short Trackers Alliance quests all costing the same. Should have been £7 for the lot and would have been more fair.
This alone means I'm out completely and won't be touching any DLC. I will not be supporting scummy practices.
I believe that they went first person as bound to get comparisons with Uncharted so trying to be a bit different for the sake of it, certainly not for immersion. This will be a very similar game but with Indiana Jones and not Nathan Drake. Xbox desperately needed this type of game.
This looks great and happy to play on Game Pass. Only problem is all the exclusives mainly come out at the end of the year. Really should spread releases better throughout the year.
All I want is an updated controller with Haptic feedback and better quality sticks. I'm getting fed up with the constant stick drift think it's done on purpose to force you to buy another.
Years ago would have been a day one purchase but BioWare are not the same studio as they once were. A lot of the talent left. Hopefully this turns out great so I have confidence in the next Mass Effect after the mediocre Andromeda.
Also better to wait for it on Game Pass in a year save myself £70+ and it will be patched. Games like this always release with bugs.
If they announce a game as an Xbox exclusive I don't expect it be on PS5 in 12 months or ever. If this is their strategy then goodbye Xbox it won't matter what they show if everything can be played on PS5.
It's time they stopped with the mixed messages and be truthful for a change. I don't expect Phil to go into hiding after shutting down studios lost a lot of respect from me with the silence. Hopefully he retires after the showcase time for a change.
They made a smart move going independent so they can't ever be forced to be a COD support studio again. Also Microsoft won't be able to shut down like Tango and Arkane.
Looking forward to Spyro 4 this series has always been my favourite platformer. I prefer to forget that the Sierra games were ever made.
They can always backtrack later rather than risk more backlash now which let's face it the Xbox brand doesn't need as already struggling. You really think if COD sales numbers stall they won't screw people over.
The management have proven time and again to be rotten liars and change strategy for more cash. Just look at exclusives now going multi format while getting nothing in return for their own players.
@theduckofdeath I agree RedFall was an utter failure but that's on poor management. The game simply wasn't ready for launch either but it was decided to release and patch later like most games these days.
Arkane Austin made some good games in the past and could have again with the right support. Microsoft have always been bad at managing their studios it really shouldn't be so difficult with all the money they have.
@Sifi No I don't think it's right that Sony have done it either. These are big companies with plenty of cash making decent profits certainly not poverty stricken. You're telling me that they can't afford to keep staff on. In the case of Microsoft just axing a load of jobs and studios then spending millions on third party deals isn't a good luck.
I'm commenting about Microsoft as this is a Xbox site 🤷
A shame the heartless Microsoft management didn't give them another chance. Not sure why the staff couldn't at least be transferred to another Xbox studio. Microsoft is throwing millions on third party deals while screwing over hard working people. Gamers won't forget and has done yet more damage the Xbox brand.
As I've always said they shouldn't have been forced to make a co op focused game they didn't want to do. This never leads to a good game.
@xMightyMatt14x Of course that's possible but with all the silence from Phil and the management we will probably never know. It's a shame that they can't be honest for a change if they explained the reasoning maybe people would understand better. As it stands plenty of us are not happy especially if they are now throwing millions at third party games.
I don't think it was that bad there as they pitched to make Hi-Fi Rush 2 and and a immersive sim game. They did ask for more staff for the projects so an increase in costs. This points to it being more financial as wages are higher in Japan even Sony closed their Japan studio.
@Sifi The only thing that makes sense why they closed Tango is staff wages are higher in Japan so cutting costs. It doesn't make it right when they are struggling to get Japanese games to even release on their platform.
Not a good look when they are throwing cash around after closing a studio that had released well received games and HI-FI Rush won an award the very thing they claimed they want.
Microsoft just copying Sony nothing new and Sony will also copy Xbox. I fear for the future of Xbox as it's becoming just Microsoft gaming.
I don't understand the logic why they spend millions on third party deals like this yet closed Tango who they actually owned. Surely it would have been better to support their own studio and they would actually own whatever game is made including IP. Was it really worth all the backlash and ruined trust they received closing down.
Literally makes no sense to me when Tango already have proven they could produce good games of different types.
Another game from Microsoft gaming many years away and will be available on PlayStation as there won't be any exclusives by then.
Honestly Daedalic was an indie developer and shouldn't have been let near Lord of the Rings. They had no experience with this type of game.
I actually own State of Mind and Pillars of the Earth both are decent games. They tried to go AAA and failed badly and now won't make another game. Should have stuck with what they knew.
Unfortunately the rights holder is happy to give it to anyone don't care about quality.
They are just trying to get sales before all are added to Game Pass at the showcase. I can't see them getting many sales now or in the future. Hopefully Game Pass is sustainable without price rises.
Let's face it we are all waiting can't believe it's taken so long and just saw one game. It's about time Xbox players saw the benefits.
Played a couple of hours and so far give it a 6/10 fantastic graphics but poor gameplay. Plays like an indie game to be honest not AAA. Luckily it's on Game Pass as certainly not worth £50.
Microsoft needs to do better with all the money they are spending it's not a good idea to be so hands off all the time. After this I fear Ninja Theory will be in trouble and have job cuts or closure of the studio.
This will be ported to PS5 soon and if it doesn't sell end up like Tango.
Sounds very similar to the first one which I thought was overrated. As it had a much bigger budget with Microsoft behind them I was hoping for more gameplay and less walking simulator this time.
Oh well doesn't cost me anything extra to try on Game Pass even if just to look at the pretty graphics. It's probably a blessing that it's a short game otherwise would get bored.
Sounds great and liked the original so interested in seeing a more modern take. However, will be waiting for a sale with Hellblade 2 out tomorrow on Game Pass and plenty more games waiting to be played.
I wonder how well this sells on Xbox probably have another developer moaning about low sales lol. They really should have picked another date to release.
The main reason is that I never liked Sony as they are super anti consumer. I was actually into SEGA and would still be with them if they survived but obviously couldn't compete with Sony even Microsoft is struggling against them after spending many billions lol. SEGA's demise gave Xbox a opportunity to be born and enter the market.
Never been interested in Nintendo as the hardware is weak and don't like the type of games they make.
This might be my last Xbox console as hate how Microsoft is managing the brand. Will stick around until the end of this generation then decide to stay or go PC.
You're missing the option of none I've never been interested. I'm one of the few people who hasn't played COD.
Might try the single player campaign on Game Pass to see what the fuss is about. That's if Microsoft doesn't change strategy on day one games or that would be another lie.
I don't care Microsoft shouldn't have closed Tango and supported the studio that had already made an award winning game. Only closed because they were Japanese.

@Fishmasterflex96 It will only get a physical release when it's ported to Sony and not before. Probably 6-12 months.
This shouldn't surprise you as don't get hardly any physical games for Xbox anymore for both first and third party. If you go to any games shop Xbox doesn't even get a whole shelf.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner It all started to go wrong with the disastrous Xbox One launch. They simply haven't recovered or ever will. They have had a stigma for many years that they had no games which is why they went on a spending spree for studios.
They lost the worse generation when people were building digital libraries people won't just swap and loose their games. Many games also don't get a physical release on Xbox and some people will only buy physical.
Xbox series hasn't been advertised very well and launched with no exclusive game due to the terrible state of Halo. Plus all the bad news and vibes from team green with constant mixed messaging. Nobody is convinced that Xbox will be around for much longer so why would people want to invest.
It's no surprise with the extremely poor way Microsoft is managing Xbox. Soon they won't have a console business to save. Nothing but bad vibes and news. Only thing that's kept them going at all is Game Pass.
Won't be long until it's just called Microsoft gaming as they have clearly given up on Xbox. They have lied multiple times to customers and their own staff nobody trusts them anymore. People have had enough and will leave a sinking ship.
This was clearly rushed out the door for the TV show and they botched it. I can actually see a difference in the graphics and framerate now.
VATS still isn't working luckily it's not really needed as combat is easy. I kept getting a save bug when loading and have had to keep restarting the game. A lot of mods are broken so haven't bothered with them. These problems are super annoying I won't lie.
It really shouldn't have been so difficult but it's the Creation engine they really need to move to Unreal so there games have less bugs. This would also speed up development time.
They shouldn't be celebrating too much as Tango found out that winning an award wasn't good enough to stop the studio being destroyed by the bean counters at Microsoft.
Tango was also apparently closed for being Japanese and having a different culture. So team green are racists.
I much preferred Hi-Fi RUSH and Ghostwire to the stuff Obsidian made but they get a free pass for being located in the US
@dskatter It isn't just the fact that they are releasing late. I simply don't trust them to not change strategy again when it suits them. I mean why should I get into a franchise now if in the future it's a risk I won't be able to play them on my platform.
Plus I don't want to reward them financially for going exclusive on PlayStation in the first place. Plenty waiting for Final Fantasy it seems won't believe the story until ports actually happen.
@Sifi The main difference is PlayStation has a much bigger market share but I'm sure it does effect game sales. If a game is available in a subscription service then people will just play the game on it without buying. Also Game Pass has many more day one games PS+ has mostly older games.
I doubt the studios put games on subscription services unless they are well paid in the first place. It simply wouldn't be worth it otherwise.
Some people just subscribe and don't buy anything which is why developers like this get hassled when they actually want to sell their games.
We will see how well it sells soon enough it's the developers choice. However, games on Xbox do sell less which has been proven and why the platform gets treated as a second class system. It's called the Game Pass effect.
These people seem entitled not everything goes on Game Pass if they are that intrested they will buy it. I'm sure it will be on sale soon enough if they can't afford it. Also can just save up rewards points and get for free.
Too late for me as got fed up of the exclusivity with Sony or skipping Xbox completely. They made it very clear that Xbox was a second class system. I don't completely blame them due to poor sales on Xbox attributed to low console sales and Game Pass.
I don't trust that they won't do it again if they start porting everything so won't bother with any of their games which are mostly mediocre.
Everyone at Ninja Theory must be worried about their job as even having a well received and award winning game isn't enough. No job security at Microsoft where staff get sacked at a moments notice. They will struggle to get new staff when needed.
Makes you wonder why Tameem left very quietly seems like something else has gone wrong in the background for Xbox. Another sign of poor management and he decided to leave a sinking ship.
@IOI The main worry about switching to PC is I know that they are fiddly to run with many different parts. I'm old and have no experience at all guess will have to learn everything.
I'm sure you will get the hang of it eventually and a platform that isn't in threat. Good luck:)
Soon with the way things are going they won't have a business, certainly not Xbox. I thought that they gave the cloud up to Ubisoft for them run and get the deal through.
Many people like me have had enough and will be abandoning for good. As soon as I've saved up it's goodbye and good riddance.
Really isn't a good look for Microsoft at all communication has been terrible as always with mixed messages. They haven't even bothered to explain why successful studios are being closed but then dare claim they need some smaller award winning games exactly what HI-FI Rush is.
Spencer has gone into hiding not daring to show his face due to the embarrassment. Not helping the situation and us gamer's won't let it slide. Only way to rectify is to admit they made a mistake and don't close Tango.
I'm fed up with nothing but bad vibes and news from Xbox that I will be eventually swapping to Steam. Never hear them doing everything they can to destroy a brand. It's simple on there just buy the games and don't have the drama.
Plenty of games skip or release later on Xbox it's just something we have to deal with on this platform. I don't like it either but it's become a second class system.
Situation will only get worse with the Xbox brand being toxic and struggling to sell consoles or subscriptions.
Let's face it won't be long until there is barley any third party support due to poor sales on Xbox most games are not viable unless they go on Game Pass.
I've already decided not to bother with Xbox next gen will be getting the next Steam deck or try and set up a PC.

Re: New Starfield Mods Allow Xbox Series S Version To Reach 120FPS
I do have a 120hz TV but games can barely manage 4k 60 without issues, in reality most can't and stuck on 30.
Maybe next generation with better hardware and technology it will be worth trying.

I'm sure you will get the hang of it eventually and a platform that isn't in threat. Good luck:)
Re: Xbox President Says xCloud Is Enjoying 'Tremendous Growth' Right Now
@IOI I've got over 1k digital games on Xbox so will just keep the series X so I can access my library.
The option is to save up for a decent PC or hope the next Steam Deck has better specs docked. It's a shame that the Steam Machine failed.
Re: Xbox President Says xCloud Is Enjoying 'Tremendous Growth' Right Now
Soon with the way things are going they won't have a business, certainly not Xbox. I thought that they gave the cloud up to Ubisoft for them run and get the deal through.
Many people like me have had enough and will be abandoning for good. As soon as I've saved up it's goodbye and good riddance.
Re: Tango Gameworks Manager Proudly Displays Hi-Fi RUSH Awards Following Studio Shutdown
Re: 'Animal Well' Is Exploding In Popularity, But Where's The Xbox Version?
Plenty of games skip or release later on Xbox it's just something we have to deal with on this platform. I don't like it either but it's become a second class system.
Situation will only get worse with the Xbox brand being toxic and struggling to sell consoles or subscriptions.
Let's face it won't be long until there is barley any third party support due to poor sales on Xbox most games are not viable unless they go on Game Pass.
I've already decided not to bother with Xbox next gen will be getting the next Steam deck or try and set up a PC.
