It says "Game Pass" not "Xbox Game Pass", I take this to mean any hardware with the Game Pass subscription service installed and paying for monthly/annually. Xbox, PC........ PlayStation, Switch, Samsung TV's? I could be crazy, but that's where the money's going to be in the future.
Remember that if you've bought your Xbox from the 'Microsoft Store' at a more expensive price in the last 60 days, you can get the difference refunded. I bought my Xbox Series X for £479.99 in October and called them to get my £120 refunded a few days ago.
I bought my 'Xbox Series X' from Microsoft at the end of October, for the full price, £479.99, the price has dropped to £359.99 in the Black Friday sale. So, I took advantage of their 60 day 'Price Promise Guarantee' and got the £120 difference refunded, not bad at all.
It's a real shame that "Hogwarts Legacy" isn't on the list. That really was a nice all rounder and looked great. It also made a nice change not to be going around killing everything that you meet.
The game is really, really good, not perfect, but it's really worth dedicating some of your time to and it's only going to get better.
It's also got a great central story, plus what currently seems an endless amount of worthwhile well written side missions.
It's been a long time since I watched a bunch of different live streams of the same game. with each person enjoying playing it their own way and having completely different experiences.
Also,
I think when you've decided to sit and play a game for an hour, then you notice 3 hours have passed, there's got to be something about it that works.
That's brilliant! Now, we've just got to come up with a great name for your ship.... How about the "STAR-CHIP ENTERPRISE" ?!?! Sorry, I'll get my coat....
Honestly, I'm really enjoying it. I know that the more hours I put in it, the more I'm going to like it. I think a lot of people giving up early, would be really helped (and hooked), with a better guide/tutorial during the early stages. Trial and error isn't for those without much spare time or on a deadline. Also a review can't be done in a weeks worth of playing, as yes there is a main storyline running through it, but that isn't the game....that's more a tutorial. My friend and I are both playing this "Starfield" game, but his discoveries and side quests are totally different from mine. Very clever, very involving and completely time consuming.
Now, let's start up my ship and try and find that incredible "Weapon's engineer" that my mate told me about.
As Xbox have always said "Future Bethesda titles will be delivered on platforms where Game Pass exists". That could mean ANY platform, all PlayStation owners (or Nintendo for that matter) need to hope for is that they add Microsoft's 'Game Pass' service to their hardware. Yes, it means Microsoft gathering a nice regular chunk of cash from their subscribers, but it's something for PS owners to wish for.
Oh well, that means that Microsoft will just have to buy the whole of 'Warner Brothers Games' then.
After all, it does make more sense for 'Warner Bros' to announce that no studios are leaving Microsoft's new purchase.
Only joking.....
I think 'TT Games' would be an ideal purchase for Microsoft. As said by 'Phil Spencer' the Xbox platform really wants to increase their "Family friendly" titles. Having the Lego series as exclusives would be perfect.
I've never actually heard of 'Paysafe', but having a Topup account or card linked to your Xbox instead of your debit or credit card seems like a sensible idea. It's also ideal if you've got kids (or elderly relatives) who get carried away wanting to buy all the DLC.
Trying to fiddle a huge company like Microsoft out of millions was never going to win. He would of got more praise and recognition pointing out to others the fault that he had found. He may of got away with a few hundred (maybe even thousands) over a long period of time, which may have resulted in him losing his job and a large fine, but trying millions really increased his punishment He definitely got what he deserved and the punishment fitted the crime.
There wasn't really much competition, but Microsoft really did have a great show and would've beaten a 'Sony presentation' with it's number of titles and anticipation I'm sure. I'm really looking forward to Halo, but I'm sure Forza 5 won the Game of the show because sometimes I think (Especially with the last year) people are looking forward to Driving around in the sunshine more than being threatened and killing things.
I'm sure Phil Spencer wasn't the only reason things have changed, but as a front man he really helps the Xbox brand. He genuinely seems like a gamer on all formats and appreciates both Sony and Nintendo as companies. I think he (amongst others) must have sat the heads of Microsoft around a table a couple of years ago and convinced them that there actually is a profit in the Xbox brand through a subscription service. That got Microsoft more interested in investing big ($7.5 Billion for Bethesda) in "Xbox Game Pass" and that can now be seen with this year's E3 showing. It's good to see the Xbox name as a real challenger again, I feel the PlayStation hardware will always be seen as the most popular (not the most powerful though) but the profit, investment and therefore exclusive development seems now to be leaning towards Xbox. Stick an "Xbox Game Pass" app on a gaming stick, smartphone, PC, TV, or who knows even Playstation or Switch hardware and that's the Xbox brand the one to develop for. A good time to be a Xbox gamer again.
Microsof's "Extended Xbox games showcase" on the 17th should give us a lot more.
Especially a lot more gameplay as it includes interviews with developers.
Remember you've still got the 'Microsoft Xbox Games Showcase: Extended Edition" on the 17th. That should show us a lot more from the developers and maybe a lot more.. ?
Now, we know what we're hoping and wishing for so let's be enthusiastic gamers again and put the crazy fun back into this thing.... If your dreams came true what would they announce...?
Incredible live gameplay of 'Banjo Kazooie, Halo Fable and Forza'. They've bought SEGA and KONAMI, Microsoft's Halo launches on Friday 3rd December with a new 'Sonic' outfit for Gamepass subscribers.
I've always been a gamer and love all formats, but as a console the Xbox is my preferred hardware. I still feel that 'Nintendo' is seen as the fun arcade, platformer machine with lifelong recognisable characters. 'PlayStation' is seen as the great all-rounder machine with great exclusives.
But unfortunately the Xbox is still seen as the PC in a box that you go to for shooters.
Microsoft are in a powerful position right now and need to show that they have the best of Nintendo and Sony available on their hardware.. Either make make them or buy someone that can. Good luck, can't wait.r
This is great news for all Xbox gamers. I will always want to own a console, but the money Microsoft needs to invest into their game development will need to come from subscription services. There are potentially a few hundred million console gamers (with no profit), but maybe billions of people willing to pay a subscription to go cloud gaming on their TV app or Smartphone etc, which will bring in billions in profit. If its going to help Microsoft produce better games, they're welcome to get the money from wherever they want.
I probably spent way too long collecting these things, but I finally spent my reward points on £135 worth of Currys vouchers, which I put towards a new laptop in the sales. I did get to play some great games that I would've normally ignored though.
Tom Cruise arrives on stage driving a flaming motorcycle (or spaceship) and announces he's going to star in the next huge Xbox exclusive!!!! Either "Starfield" or more likely "Psychonauts 2 - the Scientology edition".
Or..... a much better looking "Halo" is being released at Christmas.
Thank you for a great site, this is now my first port of call for everything Xbox. Next year will be a really exciting/interesting year for gaming and I'll be visiting your site to find out all about it.
It's no longer a console war (Sony would always win that), it's a gamers war.
Consoles are a loss for both companies, gaming is where the money is and the number of gamers, hence game sales will be what brings in the profit.
Both Sony and Microsoft are starting to go in different directions this generation (PS5 & Series X/S) and I feel Microsoft have chosen the right path from a business point of view.
Sony will sell more PS5's but even the sales of a big Sony exclusive are limited to the number of consoles sold.
A big Microsoft exclusive can sell a copy per console, plus a "day one" Game pass sale on Mobile, PC and potentially Smart TV's etc..
I'll be owning both consoles one day, I would have bought a range of exclusives on my PS5, but a constant subscription fee (plus any permanent purchases from titles I discover) to play on my Xbox console or mobile, and also any 3rd party titles.
The money's in the software.
The "Game Awards" next Thursday will see Microsoft announcing the new range of "Game Pass" additions from their new "Sega purchase. Arriving Monday 14th December are.... Sonic the Hedgehog, Jet Set Radio, Panzer Dragoon, Echo, Virtua fighter, Phantasy Star, Out run....etc 😊
I hope this is some sort of a Sega deal.
Microsoft really needs to have a lot more platformers and family titles on the Xbox.
It'll have Halo, Doom and Gears of War, 90% of video games are punching or shooting something to death, Microsoft needs to try and bring that to younger audience. 😊
"Hey gamers!" "If you don't want to go full-on with the incredible Xbox 'Series X' games console, then just use your handy little set-top 'Series S' box to buy, download, play and save all the latest titles! Or why not become one of the millions of Game Pass players enjoying the service worldwide!".
"Why not join your friends in one of the many Game pass exclusives, including Halo, Elder Scrolls, Starfield and many more.. just sign up with 'Game Pass' now using the 'Game Pass' app on your Mobile, TV, PC, Sky box, PlayStation or Switch."
On a serious note though,.... WOW! That console is built well! Countless hits with a fridge, not only that it can withstand some really cold temperatures as well. Well done to Microsoft for the build quality.
Brilliant!
I think we all felt the same when we powered up our Xbox for the first time. Entering the date, time, language etc while the futuristic green lights swirled in the background really felt like we were going to another place.
Not knowing what Halo was and playing Dead or Alive 3 first because it was going to be more exciting.
I've still got mine (in perfect working order) and even though it takes 2 people to lift it and the controllers are bigger than a 'series S'. Its well worth starting it up now and again.
The more I look at it, the more it looks odd. The second one especially, there really is too much constant smoke and its too light in colour. Besides, the wires and multi-plugs trailing up the wall are probably not a good idea anyway, especially when you've got everything sitting on a wooden crate. All you've got to do is tap the first screen 'two thousand and seventy-seven' times!....
...
I'm dying to find out if anyone believes me and does it..... 😊
.... Hang on....what if that is what you've got to do!?!
The YouTube videos of the 'American style Xbox fridge's are impressive, the Green light inside looks great, but unfortunately though its big enough to live in. A smaller mini fridge could be well worth my money.
I've just checked, if anyone's looking for a nice games selection for their new console.
There's a huge range of classic 'Original Xbox' titles for 50p (used) at a couple of well known retailers! 👍
I'm with everyone here. I've been a gamer for waaayy too long and I'm really looking forward to this game, but it is just a game. Anyone who's living their lives around it and attacking those people creating this entertainment for us in these difficult times should really sort themselves out. Mind you, the frustration and anger that hit me over 'E.T.' on my Atari could never be matched!
Why would Microsoft remove an avenue for browsing the store and making a purchase? I used to use the app to view the 'Games with Gold (or Deals with Gold) and pick them up from there. They're going to be losing a lot of money from those not near their consoles (Work/Holidays/Internet or Console problems). Idiots.
I really think the Xbox now has an abundance of RPG's and Shoot-em-ups, but is really lacking in family fun platformers like 'Rachel & Clank' on PlayStation.
I 'WOULD' buy a good Banjo. I 'MIGHT' buy a good 'Everwild'.
What was all that about? Both Sony and Microsoft go cryptic with their marketing campaigns, like others have said you wouldn't have a clue what it was for until the very end. They need some gameplay and less CGI of "Alternative Worlds", it's another advert that'll just play in the background while you're waiting for your programme.
The PS5 is trying to look 'futuristic', but none of that really works anymore. The designer must have been an old fan of 1970's Star Trek. Seriously though, from a boring practical point of view, if you knock or catch yourself on a corner it'll either snap or pull that side off.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think Of Starfield So Far
These might be wrong, (if someone can double check for me),
but It might be worth adding the other countries IGN scores.
IGN France gave a 9/10
IGN Brazil gave a 9.5/10
IGN Japan gave a 10/10
IGN Spain gave a 10/10
Not every IGN has the same opinion.
